Title: Saw Operator / FLT Counterbalance The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a saw operator/ technician on behalf of our client in the Shrewsbury area who are looking for a driven individual whos ready to be part of a growing business with big ambitions.
This is a temp to perm opportunity for the correct individual who wants to progress.
Pay Rate: £13.00- £13.50 (experience depentant)
working hours: rotating shifts
Week 1 & Week 2 - Monday - Friday 6.00am to 2:30pm
Week 3 & Week 4 - Monday - Thursday 12.00pm to 22.30pm
Saw Technician Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate sawing equipment to cut metals according to specifications. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements. Select appropriate saw blades, adjust cutting speeds, and position materials for precise cuts. Monitor sawing operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety protocols. Perform routine maintenance on saws, including blade changes, lubrication, and adjustments. resolve minor mechanical issues to minimise downtime. Inspect finished cuts for defects, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards. Maintain inventory of cutting tools and consumables, ensuring adequate supply levels. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised work area. Collaborate with team members to optimise production efficiency and meet deadlines. Saw Technician Requirements: Previous experience as a Saw Technician or a similar role is highly preferred. Proficient in operating and maintaining various types of saws used for cutting metals. Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate measurements. Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in an industrial setting. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including early mornings and late evenings, Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and operate machinery safely. Experience of operating Counter Balance and Reach Fork Lift Trucks
