Summary

We are working with a leading FMCG manufacturer in Bicester who is looking for an automation/controls engineer to join their team. This role will be key to the development and growth on the site and help aid CI projects on their current processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, maintain, and optimise PLCs

  • Develop and troubleshoot industrial robot programs

  • CI - Improve cycle times, reduce waste, and boost system reliability through program updates.

  • Lead automation improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

  • Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting

  • Create and maintain technical documentation (SOPs, schematics)

  • Train production and maintenance staff on automation

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Experience in automation engineering across manufacturing or industrial environments.

  • Experience in PLC and/or robotic programming

  • Strong electrical systems knowledge.

  • Proven track record of process improvement and technical support.

  • Competent in producing and managing technical documentation.
