Grade E £27,269 - £30,060 Per annum.

Contract: Fixed term contract until the 31st of March 2026.

Role specifics Candidates must hold a relevant level 3 qualification e.g. NNEB, NVQ3, BTEC, Early Years, Childcare, Health and Social Care. You must also hold a full, current and valid driving licence and a vehicle with a current valid MOT certificate. You will also need adequate vehicle insurance cover to comply with the council’s requirements, in line with the Travel Costs Reimbursement Policy.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone seeking employment working with children and families in a Family Hub environment.


Bolton council has a vibrant offer across our 6 Family Hub sites and wider community venues. Family Hub Practitioners along with partner agencies are key to engaging families in a whole range of services that will support them, particularly during a child’s first 1000 days.


The Family Hub Practitioners are instrumental in helping our diverse communities feel welcome and able to access services through Family Hubs. Practitioners will contribute to the delivery of the universal Start for Life and wider Family Hub programme. This includes facilitating group activities for parents and children to learn and play together. It also involves working with schools, early years settings, health and community services to make support accessible and relevant for all families.


The Family Hub Practitioners will have a thorough knowledge of child development and early learning. They will be trained to deliver a range of preventative evidence-based interventions and will help families navigate Start For Life services as well as sharing information to support new and expectant parents/carers during their transition to parenthood.


These are fixed term roles until 31st March 2026.



About You

You will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for working with families and working in a team environment. You will have thorough knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage and child development and have experience working with children 0-5 and families. You will have a relevant Level 3 qualification. You will have the confidence to approach and engage all parents and carers, help them to understand the universal services they can access through Family Hubs. You will be friendly, approachable, flexible and happy to learn new skills and take part in training.
