To work as a full member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing a preparation for loss and bereavement service to C&YP and their carers To participate in Multi-Disciplinary meetings as necessary To maintain and develop the Hospices Adult & Childrens Service To assist in delivering the BBC Children In Need Bid & also support 18 to 21 year olds Provide bereavement counselling to clients who access our services; in the community and within the hospice, who are individuals, families or in groups as part of the multi-disciplinary tea Responsible for the recruitment, training and supervision of the volunteers for the bereavement service Required to formulate, implement and evaluate therapeutic programmes for clients. This includes working closely with other statutory agencies and voluntary agencies to promote the needs of the clients who access the hospice To work with patients using individual, group or family techniques and involving other members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team as appropriate Management of student counsellors and bereavement volunteers Responsibility to triage and manage bereavement referrals, including managing telephone advice, ensuring that appropriate information and support is offered, following service protocol To develop group sessions and workshops relevant to the needs of bereaved people To contribute within the team an understanding and assessment of the psychological, emotional and social presentations of individuals and families from different cultural and/or ethnic groups
