Join our forward-thinking team as the Head of Infrastructure and Cloud Operations based in. You will be leading data centre operations team along with Cloud Infrastructure and Data base teams. The role is based in the UK with occasional travel across UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
Lead incident response efforts, overseeing the investigation and resolution of infrastructure-related issues, including following up of post-mortem actions and championing this across the business.
Manage budget and resources for infrastructure projects and operational environments, ensuring efficient utilization while staying within budget and leading our cloud cost optimization strategy.
Ensuring the Platform is available for both customers and engineers, SLAs/SLOs are met, as well as identifying bottlenecks which might impede scaling in the future. This will include implementation of disaster recovery projects.
Manage hardware and software lifecycle, both on-premise and in the cloud.
Oversee global data centre and cloud disaster recovery planning and testing.
Technical Delivery:
Drive strategic Data centre migrations and large scale transformation to the strategic software defined private cloud solutions.
Develop and implement infrastructure strategies and solutions, including hosting, cloud services, databases, and storage systems, ensuring systems are scalable, secure and compliant and efficient.
Identify and address business needs and technology trends as outlined in a multi-year roadmap.
People:
Management and growth of engineers – through 1:1s, performance reviews and objectives, it is important for all that we are able to deliver work of a high standard, in a sustainable manner, and engineers are able to learn, develop and grow their skills and career
Collaborate closely with other engineering teams, product managers, and business leaders to align infrastructure capabilities with business needs and growth.
Governance & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with policies articulated by CISO and engage in operational and security governance.
Ensure governance, business prioritisation, and adherence to IT principles.
Key Skills
Proven Leadership: Demonstrable experience leading high-performing engineering teams within the cloud and DC infrastructure space, ideally within SaaS or fast-growing technology environments.
Large Transformations: Extensive experience in Data centre migrations to a software defined private cloud solutions, preferably great knowledge and experience in Nutanix and their products.
Cloud Expertise: Extensive knowledge of cloud computing technologies and IaaS solutions from major providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. You should know how to optimise and scale large cloud estates effectively.
Operational Excellence: A strong track record in infrastructure management, cost optimisation, automation, security, and ensuring high availability. You will be expected to drive operations to world-class standards.
Strategic Vision: The ability to blend tactical execution with long-term strategic thinking. You should be able to make decisions that deliver immediate business outcomes while positioning the company for sustainable growth.
Hands-On Problem Solver: A natural problem-solver who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments. You are calm under pressure and adept at leading teams through complex challenges.
Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable business strategies.
