Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist – Neuro-Oncology
Location: Sutton

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join the Neuro-Oncology team at The Royal Marsden Hospital as fixed term Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a fantastic chance for a motivated and experienced oncology nurse to make a real difference in the lives of patients living with brain tumours.

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of adult patients, supporting individuals with both high- and low-grade brain tumours. You will be the primary point of contact for patients within the tumour group, managing complex and holistic care needs and delivering expert, patient-centred care throughout the treatment journey.

You will primarily work in an outpatient setting, with involvement and play a vital role in triaging patient concerns via phone and email, ensuring timely escalation of issues when necessary. This role requires both clinical expertise and the ability to build strong relationships with patients, their families, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• An interest in neuro-oncology and a passion for delivering exceptional cancer care.
• Strong clinical background with experience in managing complex patient needs.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
• Confident in autonomous working and effective as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Skilled in patient triage, escalation, and holistic care delivery.
• Neuro-oncology experience is desirable but not essential—full training and support will be provided.
• Self-motivated, compassionate, and committed to professional development and advocacy for patients.

• Provide expert clinical care and support for neuro-oncology patients from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up.
• Assess and address the complex physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Act as the key contact point for patients, offering advice, support, and triaging concerns appropriately.
• Collaborate with consultants, AHPs, and nursing colleagues to deliver integrated, high-quality care.
• Deliver patient education on treatments, potential side effects, and self-management strategies.
