Crynodeb

The Grace Eyre Foundation is a charity based in Brighton & Hove and the wider Sussex community that has been working with people with a Learning Disability and autistic people since 1898. Our mission is to work towards being led by people with Learning Disabilities and autistic people to deliver high-quality housing, support and activities in their local communities. The people we support tell us that they want “good support from kind and friendly people” – so that is what we are looking for!

Grace Eyre is looking for a Team Leader to join our Choices Team in Coastal West Sussex, supporting people in and around Worthing, Littlehampton, and Chichester. Our supported living services are all about promoting independence, choice, and inclusion — and we need someone who shares that vision.

About the Role

As Team Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring the people we support receive high-quality, person-led support. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will:

Lead and inspire a team of Support Workers to provide consistent, person-centred support.
Build and manage staff rotas to ensure support hours meet the individual needs of the people we support.
Oversee service quality, including regular reviews with the people we support and their circles of support.
Recruit and supervise staff who reflect Grace Eyre’s values and commitment to inclusive practice.
Ensure the smooth running of supported living households and carry out regular audits.
Work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings, and sleep-ins where required, as part of the rota.
This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll work directly alongside the people we support, modelling great support and enabling independence and inclusion.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

A confident and proactive leader with a background in social care
Passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people
Organised, resilient, and great at problem-solving
Passionate about inclusion, respecting individual rights, and supporting people to take control of their own lives.
If you want to be part of a forward-thinking, values-led organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

The individuals we support take told us “I would like someone who is friendly and will take me out bowling. I would like someone that can drive or will take me out on public transport”.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion:

No applicant for employment or employee will be treated less favourably than another on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, marriage & civil partnership or pregnancy & maternity, and we encourage applications from people with learning disabilities or identify with being on the autistic spectrum/neurodiverse.

Staff benefits include:

Enhanced holiday entitlement
One paid celebration day a year
Cost of living support package such as rental deposit scheme
Cycle to work scheme
Generous refer-a-friend scheme
One paid volunteering day a year
Enhanced sick pay
Enhanced employer pension contribution
