Could you be the person who brings clarity and confidence to complex commercial contracts, risk, and compliance?

If you're someone who has experience managing commercial contracts, overseeing risk, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and excels at building and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What’s the role all about?

As Commercial Lead – Contracts & Relationships, you’ll be at the heart of our commercial operations. You’ll provide strategic leadership on key contracts, ensuring they deliver value, meet performance expectations, and comply with all relevant standards.

You’ll also be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping to shape commercial strategies and manage risk effectively. This role is central to how we work with suppliers and partners to deliver high-quality services to our communities.

What will your day look like?

Your day will involve leading the management and oversight of major commercial contracts, providing expert advice to senior managers and elected members on a range of commercial and contractual matters. You’ll focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, while actively monitoring contract performance, resolving any issues that arise, and identifying opportunities for improvement. Additionally, you’ll champion continuous improvement and promote best practices in contract and relationship management.

Who are we looking for?

You will have significant experience in contract management, procurement or supplier relationship management, ideally within the public sector, with proven ability to deliver commercial improvements and manage high-level budgets.

You will have a strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory frameworks relevant to contracting.

You will have excellent communication skills that enable you to quickly build relationships and trust with all stakeholders and have strong negotiation and leadership skills.

Why join us?

Because this isn’t just a job—it’s your opportunity to join us and be part of our high-performing and ambitious Strategy, Policy and Performance team. You’ll be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team that values your ideas and your energy.
