The BHFT CYPIT service is anintegrated Children’s Therapy service, shaped around the needs of the child and family. We are structured within integrated teams (physio, OT,SaLT, integrated therapy assistants and admin) and work closely together whereappropriate, to ensure we have the greatest therapeutic impact, working either directly or through other people.
We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6SaLTto join our amazing integrated therapy teamfor 22.5 hours per week, term time only. As a Band 6 Children’s SALT, you will bepart of the Children and Young People’s Integrated Therapy team under the direction of a Band 7 therapist. There will also be dedicated time and opportunities to shadow therapists in various settings, attend trainingsessionsand develop your knowledge and skills within the wider school age therapy team.
As a Band 6 Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist, you willbe responsible forthe planning and management of your own school-age caseload and service delivery using an impact-based model of clinical decision making. This role includes supporting children who attend mainstream schools and specialist resources in Reading andWokingham. The role will involve travel to several sites but also leaves room for some home working.
• To function as a specialist autonomous clinician, with a role in supporting delivery of theCYPIT model, development of the CYPF (Children and Young People and Families)model and provide support to other more junior CYPIT therapists and non-professional staff.
• To provide high quality assessment and interventions for children and young people with developmental / complex needs inareaof specialistexpertise, using evidence based/person-centered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
• To provide specialist therapy input intoclinical services within a designated area/team, contributing todefined projects as requested by Clinical Leads.
