A Vacancy at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Applications are invited for a 10 PA Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
This post offers an exciting opportunity for Consultant, to work within a team of 32 Consultants at the Trust.
This is a fixed term post for 12 months initially for a consultant with a special interest in fertility and IVF primarily based at the St Helier site with Labour ward on call.
The role is multi-site for all activities, there will also be requirements to work at St Helier Hospital, and when the new hospital is built at Sutton, acute work will be undertaken at the Sutton site. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the supporting assisted reproduction, one stop fertility clinics and acute gynaecology cover. In addition, they will provide consultant led Labour Ward.
The trust has a consistent 7 day working on labour ward and cross site working for all members of staff. The Trust also has a consultant of the week to exclusively cover emergency care in gynaecology at the St. Helier’s site. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in both these activities.
The new Consultant will also have shared workload in supervision and training junior doctors in the Labour Ward, antenatal/postnatal and emergency care.
St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St George’s Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).
After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.
