Job Title: Nursery Deputy Manager

Location: Happy Choo Choo Nursery Holy Cross Church Ferrymead Gardens UB6 9NJ
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Job Purpose:
To support manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring a high-quality, safe, and stimulating environment for children. To support staff to deliver outstanding care and early years education in line with the EYFS and other statutory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning and implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Ensure the nursery meets all Ofsted, health and safety, and safeguarding requirements.
Lead, manage, and develop a team of early years practitioners.
Build positive relationships with parents, children, and external professionals.
Maintain accurate records for children and staff.
Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the setting.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Level 3 or above Childcare Qualifications
Level 2 Qualifications in English and Maths (such as GCSEs or Functional Skills)
Experience in a supervisory or management role within an early years setting ( deputy manager or room leader )
Sound knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety regulations.
Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding Course
Skills & Attributes:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organised, proactive, and flexible.
Ability to build trusting relationships with children, staff, and families.
Passionate about early years education and child development.
