Are you a fantastic Business Development Executive?

We’re looking for someone special to join aceHR – someone confident, motivated, and ready to roll up their sleeves and help us grow. You’ll be our first dedicated sales hire, working directly with the founder, Steven, to bring aceHR’s services to more brilliant businesses across the UK.

Known internally as Client Engagement Partner, this role combines elements of both sales development and business development. You’ll spend your time reaching out to prospective clients, building relationships, nurturing leads, and booking discovery calls that introduce our flagship service – the HR Advice Line. You’ll need to be confident generating leads, qualifying interest, and helping future clients understand the value we bring.

It’s a B2B role focused on small to mid-sized businesses, and there’ll be opportunities to attend remote and in-person networking events from time to time.

We’re a start-up with big ambitions, and this is a chance to play a key part in our growth journey.

What this role REALLY looks like right now.

We believe honesty is so important to a strong business relationship, so we want to be upfront about this position. This is a role in a start-up environment. That means it’s fast-paced, resourceful, and evolving. Whilst we expect this role to evolve into a leadership opportunity in the future, that’s not what we’re hiring for today.

Right now, we’re looking for someone ready to roll up their sleeves, work smart with the hours they have, and help us lay the foundations for future growth. You’ll need to be adaptable, resilient, and comfortable wearing multiple hats - especially in the early stages.

If you're looking to join an established team, where everything is set-up, this probably isn’t the job for you.

But, if you’re excited by the idea of building something and helping shape the future of aceHR, then we’d love to hear from you.

So, why Join aceHR?

We're a start-up consultancy on a mission to become the trusted HR partner for small and mid-sized businesses. Having recently moved from sole trader to limited company status, we're building from the ground up - developing brilliant client relationships and delivering high-impact HR support that actually makes a difference. We offer three core services:

HR Advice Line for ongoing, expert HR support by subscription
Consultancy Solutions for bespoke help with everything from contracts to culture
Training for practical, high-impact workshops for leaders and teams

We’re rooted in our ACE values:

Advocate for Better Ways of Working: We champion better ways of working, helping businesses lead with confidence, integrity, and respect.

Champion Expertise and Guidance: We provide expert advice when it matters most, guiding businesses with clarity and insight.

Explore the Best Fit Solutions: We tailor solutions to fit each business's unique needs, ensuring the right fit for today and tomorrow.

What You'll Be Doing

Introducing our HR Advice Line service to future clients, helping them understand the value it brings
Working towards monthly and quarterly sales targets and KPIs
Booking qualified discovery calls directly into our founder’s diary
Nurturing leads from outbound campaigns
Generating new cold leads through outreach – email, social media, and cold calling
Following up with prospects from our HR Health Check and other lead generation channels
Building strong rapport with small business leaders and decision-makers
Accurately recording activity to help us measure what’s working and scale it
Attending occasional networking events (virtual and in-person)

What You'll Need

Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or lead generation, ideally withing a service based organisation, where a consultative sales approach is standard
Evidence of consistently achieving sales targets and other KIPs - you must have a growth mindset
Confidence speaking to business owners and senior leaders
Ability to build relationships and open doors
A real hunger to deliver on sales and appointment setting targets
A self-starter mindset – you’ll be trusted to manage your own day and deliver outcomes
Someone who gets our tone – professional, clear, warm, and focused on outcomes
An interest in small business, HR, compliance or leadership (helpful, but not essential)
Comfortable picking up the phone – cold calling will be a big part of this role
Flexibility - this is a start-up business and we're still building out systems and processes. This isn't for everyone, but you'll be able to see quick wins and the efforts of your work in a short space of time.
