Your New Job

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with additional needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver personalised learning plans, manage behaviour positively, and help students develop socially and emotionally. This is a full-time, long-term role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties
  • Assisting with the delivery of tailored educational activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Creating a safe and engaging learning environment

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through Hays)
