Crynodeb
In this role you will be managing 4 services - Kernow Young Carers, Cornwall Advocacy and Independent Visitor Service, Plymouth Advocacy Service and Jersey Advocacy Service.
Kernow Young Carers. Supports young carers aged 4-17 years and delivers across the whole of Cornwall offering 1-1 support, running activities and residentials and working with schools to upskill them. It also supports Young Adult Carers aged 18-25 years. The aim is to reduce the impact of caring on the young carer and offer them a break from their caring role.
This service is part of the county-wide Cornwall Carers Service, which is a partnership of 5 charities, let by Cornwall Community Charity.
Cornwall Advocacy and Independent Visitor Service offers advocacy to children and young people aged 6-18 years (up to 25 years with SEND). This is for C&YP in care, those involved in child protection proceedings, those with a disability, homeless 16–17-year-olds, Family Group Conferences and those wishing to make a complaint about a service they have received from Cornwall Council.
The service also provides Independent Visitors for C&YP in care
This is an ‘opt in' service
Plymouth Advocacy Service offers advocacy to children and young people aged 4-18 years (up to 25 years with SEND). This is for C&YP in care, those involved in child protection proceedings and those wishing to make a complaint about a service they have received from Plymouth City Council.
This is an ‘opt out' service
Jersey Advocacy Service offers advocacy to children and young people aged 5-18 years. This is for all C&YP involved in child protection proceedings and those with a Child In Need meeting.
Jersey has its own Laws and Regulations which differ to those on the UK mainland.
