An excellent opportunity for a Hydraulic Pipe Fitter to join a well-established company based in Birtley, Gateshead.
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
Reporting To: Projects and Operations Coordinator
Location: Gateshead.
Salary: £15 per hour depending on experience
About the Role:
The Piping Technicians are responsible for manufacturing swaged, flared and welded tubes and pipes as per drawing or on site. They will also manufacture hydraulic hoses and complete flushing and pressure testing activities. It is expected that the Piping Technicians must have a good understanding of the principles of hydraulic connections technologies and fittings. Hand and power tools, as well as specialised testing and measuring equipment will be used as part of the role.
This position will provide a varied and challenging role, with the opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their skills and industry knowledge, while we support you in your personal career progression.
Main Duties:
• Mechanical and hydraulic assembly of systems against drawings
• Bending of rigid tube and pipes using manual and electrical bender
• Manufacture of hose assemblies
• Flushing of hose assemblies, pipework, and complete systems
• Pressure testing of hose assemblies and pipework
• To ensure that all work carried out complies with instructions given
• To be aware of activity (task) target hours and make every effort to ensure that these targets are achieved or bettered
• To preserve and maintain all company tools and equipment in your care
• Always comply to internal and customer site regulations and HSEQ guidelines
• Supporting in all areas of work where appropriate
• Embrace and support our company values
• To have a proactive and positive attitude to your work and encourage team members to achieve company objectives.
Candidate Requirements:
• Knowledge of different type of hydraulic fittings
• Knowledge of clamping technologies and standards
• Able to read mechanical drawings
• Able to read and draft isometric drawings
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic schematic and symbols
• Ability to work to strict safety standards
• Good knowledge of general engineering practices such as measuring/ marking off/ manual drilling and tapping
• Knowledge and experience of cleanliness requirements in hydraulics and Pressure Testing
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role
• Minimum Qualification 4 Year Engineering Apprenticeship
• Clear communicator both written and verbal
• Eligible to work permanently in the UK
• Full driving licence
KPI’s:
• The completion of tasks on time
• No quality issues or customer complaints arising from completed work
• Compliance to the company’s core processes
• Correct completion of paperwork
