Job Purpose:
To operate CNC machines safely and efficiently in the manufacture of precision components, ensuring all parts meet required specifications, quality standards, and production targets.

Key Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate CNC milling, turning, or grinding machines in accordance with production requirements.
• Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and work instructions to ensure accurate machining.
• Load raw materials and monitor machining processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Conduct in-process inspections using measurement tools such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
• Identify and report any tooling, machine, or material issues promptly.
• Complete relevant documentation, including inspection records and job reports.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and keep machinery and work areas clean and safe.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to resolve issues and improve processes.

Skills & Experience Required:
• Proven experience operating CNC machines (e.g., milling, turning, or similar).
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tolerances, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools for quality control.
• Basic understanding of G-code or CNC programming (advantageous).
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work shifts or flexible hours if required.

Desirable Qualifications:
• Apprenticeship or relevant NVQ/City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering or CNC Machining.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software or CNC programming is a plus.
