Role Purpose
The Youth Worker will be responsible for designing, delivering, and overseeing programs that support the spiritual, emotional, and social development of young people aged 11–25. The role includes mentoring, teaching, event planning, and pastoral support, all while modelling Christ-like values and encouraging youth to grow in their walk with God.

Main Responsibilities
1. Ministry Leadership and Development
• Lead and grow a vibrant, Bible-based youth ministry aligned with RCCG doctrines and values.
• Develop weekly teaching and activity plans that include Bible study, prayer, worship, and discussions relevant to youth.
• Support and integrate youth involvement in church services, evangelism, and community outreach.
2. Pastoral Care and Mentoring
• Build positive, respectful relationships with young people and provide ongoing spiritual and emotional support.
• Offer 1-to-1 mentoring and guidance, supporting youth through life challenges in a faith-centred way.
• Be a trusted confidant while upholding appropriate boundaries and safeguarding procedures.
• Support the youth in building sustainable social relationships with full regard to British values
3. Program and Event Management
• Organise and deliver youth events such as retreats, workshops, conferences, and fun outings.
• Coordinate youth participation in regional or national RCCG youth activities (e.g., Young Missionary Summer School, youth conventions).
• Promote leadership development among young people through training and volunteering opportunities.
4. Team Collaboration and Training
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support youth activities.
• Work collaboratively with church leadership, parents, wider ministry teams, and other organisations to ensure that the youth grow into adulthood with integrity
• Attend relevant staff meetings, planning sessions, and leadership training.
5. Safeguarding and Compliance
• Ensure all youth work complies with current safeguarding legislation and RCCG safeguarding policy.
• Maintain up-to-date records, risk assessments, and DBS clearances for all youth staff/volunteers.
• Act as or work closely with the church’s Safeguarding Officer.

Person Specification
Essential:
• A committed, Spirit-filled Christian with a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Proven experience of working with young people in a church, community, or youth organisation.
• Ability to teach the Bible in an engaging and relevant way to young audiences.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection requirements.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and occasional travel.
Desirable:
• A recognised qualification in Youth Work, Theology, Ministry, or a related field.
• Familiarity with RCCG doctrine, structure, and youth programmes.
• Experience in event planning or managing youth outreach projects.
• First aid and mental health awareness training.
