What skills and experience we're looking for

• Have an NGB Level 2 Coaching Qualification.
• Have experience of working in the sports sector and / or a school setting.
• Have sound administrative and IT skills, including experience of producing marketing andpromotional material, through the use of Canva and social media platforms for example.
• Ability to prioritise workload and time manage effectively.
• Be self-motivated and hard-working.

What is the role?

Deputy School Games Organiser

Through the direction and support of the Lead School Games Organiser, the successful candidate will make a positive and meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people through sport and physical activity. The School Games programme pledges to address the national priorities of tackling inequalities, youth engagement and physical literacy.

PE and School Sport Support Officer

In addition, the post will support the team in the delivery of its key events and programmes such as the delivery of high quality PE, healthy active lifestyle opportunities and playground leader training.

Newcastle PE and School Sport Service is based at Benfield School in the east of Newcastle upon Tyne and is part of NEAT Academy Trust, a family of seven primary and secondary schools. At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of all young people within the communities we serve across the North East.

Our service covers the whole of Newcastle upon Tyne engaging with and delivering a variety of programmes and services to First, Primary, Middle, Special and High Schools. We provide high quality PE and sporting opportunities to children and young people, and we are committed to having a positive impact in order to raise participation that will ultimately encourage and motivate them to lead healthy active lifestyles. As such we are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and passionate individual to deliver against this aspiration.

This role will suit enthusiastic individuals with a positive and collaborative attitude wishing to start or continue their career in sport development or physical education.
