Make a Difference to the Lives of Young People in Need
Do you want to support young people during a vulnerable stage of their illness? Do you have a keen interest in delivering high-quality care in a psychiatric intensive care unit? If so, we’d love for you to join our Meadow Adolescent PICU team in Oxford.
We are seeking a Charge Nurse to be part of our purpose-built psychiatric intensive care unit designed specifically for young people. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact while working in an environment that offers both challenge and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and support a team of nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of outstanding care to young people.
• Implement the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model on the ward, promoting a therapeutic and supportive environment.
• Provide acute management and care, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
• Foster a culture of empathy, safety, and respect for all young patients.

We are looking for an individual who is energetic and enthusiastic about working collaboratively with young people and their families, offering containment and support to the wider nursing team. This individual should be committed to utilising acute nursing skills at the highest level to ensure the least restrictive care possible is being delivered.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside the ward manager and be involved in the development of the nursing team and the wider development of the CAMHS PICU service.
