We are looking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic people to join our team providing care and support to children and young people with additional needs arising from their disability.

We believe children who have disabilities are equally valued and empowered to live full and rewarding lives and have the same experiences for social inclusion as all children. It is our mission to improve the quality of life for children with disabilities through the provision of high quality services in partnership with the children, their families, carers and other professionals.

We are looking for a Senior Residential Child Care Worker, who will work as part of a team providing 24 hour care within the Children’s Residential Services for Cared for Children. You will be working in a busy 6 bedded Children’s Home caring for Children and Young People with disabilities including challenging behaviour and complex medical needs. You will be responsible for managing and supervising staff as the shift leader.

Hours of work are evening, night, day shifts and weekend work as part of a flexible working rota, sleep in duties and Bank Holiday work. You will be expected to undertake shift leader duties as required after the necessary period of experience within the home. You will be expected to train and supervise staff under the direction of the manager/Deputy and be able to manage the building in the Manager’s/Deputy absence.

You will need to provide practical person centred support, ensure that the children receive an excellent standard of care and support them to live full and active lives.

About You

You must have a professional approach. An understanding of the needs of people who have disabilities is essential and, preferably, experience of working in a person centred manner including the maintenance of support plans and other associated record keeping. You will need excellent written, communication and basic IT skills.

The level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare, or equivalent is an essential requirement.
