Key Responsibilities:
As a senior engineer, you will be at the heart of our transport network's management and development, fulfilling our responsibilities as a highway authority. You will:
- Bring People Together: Working closely with other teams within, and outside, the service you will be effective at enabling multi-disciplinary professionals to collaborate towards shared goals. You will be a versatile and engaging communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels, dealing with colleagues, the public, members and other stakeholders with empathy and understanding.
- Manage Big Responsibilities: You will be responsible for delivery of minor works packages improving road safety around schools, delivery of 20mph speed reduction schemes and rolling out moving traffic enforcement sites.
This role also acts as a bridge between our capital design team delivering changes and updates in traffic regulation orders. You will be addressing issues in enforcement, parking, car parks, and public realm/neighbourhood projects. You will be integral to creating and delivering projects that support the effective management of our transport network, such as the moving traffic enforcement powers delivery plan, bus gate and enforcement strategy, and revising the town centre parking strategy.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who brings proven technical expertise in civil engineering, traffic engineering, road safety, or transport planning.

- Demonstrate Relevant Educational Achievement: Hold a qualification in Civil Engineering / related field, or suitable time served status.
- Lead, Inspire and Develop Your Team: Demonstrate an ability to lead and develop engineers, apprentices, and graduates, fostering a culture of learning and development.
