Maintenance Assistant
Location: Alderley Park, Macclesfield
Business Area: Sustainable FM North
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000
Hours: Monday-Friday (3-week rotating shift pattern)
On-Call: Participation in out-of-hours rota required
Reports to: Technical Manager

At EQUANS, we're looking for a hands-on, proactive Maintenance Assistant to join our team delivering high-quality facilities support across residential buildings at Alderley Park and surrounding sites. If you're passionate about keeping environments safe, compliant, and well-maintained - we want to hear from you.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:

  • Carrying out legionella prevention tasks: flushing, temperature testing, TMV maintenance, hot water checks, CWST inspections, and shower disinfections

  • Performing basic plumbing repairs and pipework upgrades

  • Responding to reactive maintenance requests

  • Conducting plant room inspections and cleaning

  • Escorting contractors on-site as needed

  • Supporting proactive improvements to site water systems

  • Taking part in a call-out rota and escalation procedures

What We're Looking For:

Plumbing qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ)
ACOP L8 / Legionella Awareness and experience in related tasks
Unvented Hot Water Systems qualification
Comfortable walking 10,000+ steps per day and performing physical work
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Familiar with mobile devices, tablets, CAFM systems
Experience with HVAC plant systems is a plus
