Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Reporting to: The Employer

Location: Bromsgrove, Worcestershire B61

Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the employer who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer:
A 60-year-old female living in the Bromsgrove area is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to work on a casual basis to provide support to access the local community, attend any health appointments, shopping & meal preparation, and light housework duties.
Our client has Multiple Sclerosis and several other health issues and is a wheelchair user. Our client lives with her Husband and their dog’s and enjoys going out walking the dog’s, cooking, and spending time with the family.

Main duties:
Social duties
 keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
 access the local community
 attend medical appointments
 do hobbies such as dog walking

Personal care, provide support and encouragement with all personal care.

Domestic duties, support with grocery shopping, cooking, and serving nutritious meals and snacks, cleaning, changing linen, laundry.

These duties may vary from day-to-day.

Type of person that you/they are looking for:
 Values, someone who is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel & understands equality and diversity.
 Specific requirements, someone with an understanding of Multiple Sclerosis. MUST like dogs as there are 2 dog’s in the home.
 Other: due to the nature of this role including personal care the potential employer will be considering female applicants only.

Hours of work:
5 hours on a Tuesday or Wednesday every 2 weeks + holiday cover when required.

Rate of pay:
£12.21 per hour

Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
 Must like dogs as there are Dog’s in the property.
 confidentiality
 good at building relationships

Preferred:
 driving licence
 car and appropriate insurance
 good listener
 good communicator
 ability to support people with disabilities
