Summary

Adferiad Recovery delivers a flexible and coordinated response to the exceptional circumstances faced by people with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions and related issues. Vulnerable people facing complex life challenges need consistent and seamless support to ensure they remain engaged with vital health and wellbeing services – and to prevent them becoming disenfranchised and isolated.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week (12 months fixed term contract)
Salary: £27,764.55 per annum (pro rata)

Based at: Colwyn Bay or Swansea

Role Purpose:

Adferiad is undertaking a 12-month research project to better understand who volunteers with the organisation, who doesn’t, and why - with a particular focus on the experiences of volunteers from global majority communities. The aim is to produce a research-informed resource to support more inclusive volunteering, drawing on evidence from across Wales.
Using Adferiad’s existing infrastructure across all 22 counties, the project will focus on three areas - Wrexham, Powys and Cardiff - to help understand how barriers may operate differently across the varied geography and demography of Wales. The project will combine data from surveys, interviews, and focus groups to build a picture of people’s motivations, barriers, and lived experiences.
A unique feature of the research will be applying an appropriate behavioural framework, such as the COM-B model, to help interpret and understand the key enablers and barriers to volunteer behaviour. This will ensure that the analysis is grounded in theory, which will support the development of meaningful, evidence-based actions.
The research will inform a subsequent 6-month pilot intervention phase.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
