Job Description
To provide 1:1 support to enable them to attend Youth Club on Sundays in Salford M6 and an extra-curricular activity during term time – likely Cubs-in M44. As cubs is term time only, during the school holidays the PA will be required to take the child out into the community. Day and time for this is flexible.
Roles and Responsibilities
To support child with autism, delayed motor skills and low self-esteem, who is waiting to be assessed for ADHD. He communicates verbally and is academically bright. He struggles with his concentration, social interaction and emotional regulation.
The PA is required to support him to:
● regulate his emotions
● follow instructions
● make friends
● participate in group activities
● stay safe

He is a chatty and fun 8 year old with a fantastic sense of humour. He is reluctant to leave the house, and particularly to participate in outdoor activities, but when he does do so, he enjoys being active, running, climbing and exploring.
Hobbies and Interests
Loves gaming, reading and baking. His favourite games are Minecraft, Pokemon and Roblox. His favourite books are Dogman, Bunny vs Monkey and Harry Potter. His favourite TV shows are My Little Pony, YouTube and gaming shows
Other Relevant Information
Ideally PA would be able to drive but not essential.

Specific Requirements
● Experience working with children with autism and/or social emotional and mental health needs
● Patient, compassionate and pro-active
● Able to de-escalate and redirect
● Able to re-engage child when they become disengaged
● Good at setting boundaries and encouraging positive behaviour
Required Training
● Experience in a similar role either paid or voluntary is highly desirable
● Knowledge of challenges faced by individuals with autism and ADHD
● Training in de-escalation techniques (desirable)
● Good verbal communication and observation skills

Hourly Rate- £12.21 per hour.
Hours Per Week- 5 hours a week.
How will the hours be used
Term time – Wednesday 6.45pm to 8.15pm and Sunday 11am to 2.30pm. School holidays – Sunday 11am to 2.30pm and 1.5 hours to be used flexibly in agreement with PA
Employer requires transport?- No
