Crynodeb
The Typing Pool is primarily responsible for the typing and formatting of judicial judgments and reports as well as processing transcription requests using digital recording systems.
A large part of the Supreme Courts output on the SCTS website is also managed by the typing pool, including various court rolls and the publication of judgments and Contempt of Court Orders.
The Key Responsibilities Include:
Typing and Formatting;
Transcribe and format a number of documents including but not limited to; Parole board reports, PI Court judgements, FAI judgements, Inner and Outer House Opinions, misc judgements and opinions from both High Court, Sheriff Court’s and Tribunals
Creating and formatting of daily calling lists and walling lists (wallings - Monday to Friday, callings - Tuesday to Friday) and liaising with clerks etc if there are any queries.
Formatting of other documents, including but not limited to – weekly rolls of court, open records, competition appeal tribunals, tax tribunal work etc
Transcriptions:
Uploading audio requests from different departments to external client sources
Extracting VIQ files and sending via email once approval has been given by the Typing Pool manager
General:
When requested send signed reports or completed opinions to clerks, judges or relevant departments
Liaise with clerks and agents to ensure documentation complete and intimation letters related to publication of opinions.
Issuing opinions to parties
To assist with Admin Officer duties in any of the Offices of Supreme Courts when available and if required.
General mailbox duties for generic inboxes including emailing rolls of court and open records to relevant areas and responding to queries
Monitoring and recording of data related to typing pool tasks, work to be completed and database entries.
Provide and produce business cards, compliments slips and headed paper as and when required
