Summary
OverviewThe Senior Engineer is the cornerstone of our engineering operations—serving as both a technical expert and a trusted leader. This role bridges the gap between frontline engineers and leadership, ensuring operational excellence, team development, and continuous improvement. Senior Engineers are not only among the most skilled in the team but also demonstrate the maturity and confidence to lead, coach, and challenge constructively.
Key Responsibilities
-Team Leadership & Development
-Act as a critical friend and first-line manager to engineers.
-Support the welfare and day-to-day needs of the engineering team.
-Mentor and coach engineers to elevate team capability and performance.
-Lead by example, fostering mutual respect and accountability.
-Operational Excellence
-Ensure all audits and compliance checks are completed within the required month.
-Manage and own the on-call rota for the region.
-Serve as the in-region escalation point for technical and operational issues.
-Support the RPS and REM with regional initiatives and escalations.
-Process & Quality Control
-Coach engineers on job awareness, including second-person job identification, Verisae usage, and high-quality docket standards.
-Oversee van stock and, where applicable, stores control.
-Collaborate with the RPS to improve docket quality and documentation standards.
-Drive adoption and accuracy of the quoting tool to ensure work is executable and defensible.
-Recruitment & Growth
-Participate in Stage 1 technical interviews to assess new engineering talent.
