Job Description: Childcare Practitioner for Baby Room
Position: Childcare Practitioner
Location: Longbridge Childcare Strategy Group
Department: Baby Room
Reports to: Nursery Manager
Employment Type: Part-Time, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 12 until 5pm

Longbridge Childcare Strategy Group, has been established since 1991 and currently run 3 childcare settings within the South Birmingham area. We are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. Our expanding Baby Room is designed to offer exceptional care and early education for infants, ensuring they receive the best start in life. We are looking for passionate and dedicated Childcare Practitioner to join our team and help us achieve our vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Care and Supervision:
Provide attentive and responsive care to infants aged from 9 months to 2 years.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the Baby Room.
Maintain a clean, hygienic, and safe environment.
Development and Learning:
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
Monitor and record each child's progress and milestones.
Encourage social interaction and sensory exploration.
Daily Routines:
Manage daily routines, including feeding, personal hygiene needs, sleeping, and playtime.
Follow individualised care plans for each infant, as provided by parents or guardians.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
Communication:
Build positive relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress.
Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure consistency in care and learning.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall planning and development of the Baby Room.
Compliance and Training:
Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations related to childcare.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Ensure all necessary certifications and qualifications are current and valid.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (or equivalent).
Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting.
Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Current Paediatric First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
A clear DBS check and 2 references.
