Job Overview:
The Storage and Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire warehousing function, including inventory management, goods receiving and dispatch, staff supervision, health and safety, and operational efficiency. This role ensures that all storage and distribution activities support company objectives and meet compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Warehouse Operations Management:
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
• Ensure orders are processed efficiently and shipped accurately and on time.
• Supervise the proper use of equipment and storage space to maximize warehouse efficiency.
• Implement and maintain warehouse layout and process improvements.
2. Inventory Control:
• Oversee inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
• Maintain optimal stock levels to meet operational needs without overstocking.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Manage stock rotation, especially for perishable or dated products.
3. Team Leadership & Staff Management:
• Lead and supervise warehouse staff including assistants, forklift drivers, and loaders.
• Foster a safe, motivated, and productive working environment.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and high standards of work.
4. Health & Safety Compliance:
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety procedures and signage.
• Train staff in safe manual handling and emergency protocols.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free warehouse environment.
5. Reporting & Coordination:
• Prepare operational reports including stock levels, productivity, damages, and costs.
• Liaise with the logistics, sales, and procurement teams to coordinate incoming and outgoing deliveries.
• Work with Sage /ERP systems for inventory control and reporting.
