£25.00 per hour PAYE

Contract Length: 6 months

37 hours per week

Location: Surrey


Our Client is seeking a detail-driven and legally astute professional to provide expert legal services across the Highways & Transport service in Surrey. This pivotal role involves the drafting and promotion of both temporary and permanent Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) in support of capital and revenue highway projects, as well as for a range of external agencies such as Network Rail, developers, and Statutory Undertakers.

Responsiblities:



Prepare, promote, and seal TROs to strict deadlines.


Provide legal advice to engineers, service teams, and council members.


Draft statutory notices, legal documents, and correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.


Liaise closely with all 11 Area Highway Teams to determine and fulfil legal requirements under the Local Transport Plan.


Work collaboratively with Senior Solicitors and ensure Surrey County Council’s legal obligations are met.




Essentials:


A strong knowledge of Traffic Management techniques and current highway legislation.


In-depth knowledge of the Road Traffic Regulation Act and associated procedural guidance.


Experience in drafting legal orders and articles relating to traffic regulations.


Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly.


Strong organisational and time-management skills to manage tight deadlines.
