What skills and experience we're looking for

St Peter & St Paul’s RC Primary School are currently seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy trust

The staff and Governors at St Peter & St Paul’s RC Primary School are looking for an experienced and outstanding TA1 to join our very popular, oversubscribed school. The role will involve working with children on a 1:1 basis as well as focussed group work. We are a multi-cultural school which has a vibrant and caring Catholic Ethos running through everything that we do. • Will enjoy working as part of our excellent staff team
• Is able to support the class teacher, and SENDCO if necessary in all aspects
• Enjoys playing outside in all sorts of weathers and encourages and supports children to be creative in physical play
• Has good personal numeracy and literacy skills and has an awareness of the school curriculum.
• Helps to keep children safe including maintaining a safe environment, dealing with accidents, emergencies and illnesses
• Contributes to positive relationships with children and adults through communication and interaction.
• Contributes to moving and handling children as appropriate
• Is a role model to pupils through appropriate personal presentation and professional conduct
• Can establish effective working relationships with professional colleagues both in school and as part of the school’s learning community and network
• Supports all the School’s policies and ethos
• Will undertake any necessary professional development as identified, taking full advantage of any relevant training and development available.

NB: This post will also cover some dinner time duties.
