**6 month fixed term contract / secondment opportunity**
The Oncology and Haematology Directorate consists of Outpatients within the Colney Centre, Mulbarton Ward and Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy treatment areas. Paperless processes are in place for chemotherapy and radiotherapy with a dedicated software system including electronic paper records. The department has a year-on-year increase in new referrals and treatments, and has recently expanded the chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment areas.
An opportunity has arisen to join our busy administration team in Oncology and Haematology to support our Patient Pathway Coordinator and Acute Oncology Haematology Data Assistant.
As post holder, you will be responsible for providing an efficient administrative service for the consultants and other medical staff working across the Directorate.
An exciting opportunity is available to support the PPC and MDT Co-Ordinators to work closely with clinicians, specialist nurses, secretaries and all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure that patients on a cancer pathway are actively managed.
In addition, you will provide administrative support, including scanning, collating reports and audits, distributing and sending out patient letters, opening and distributing post, updating Department databases, photocopying and filing.
The post holder will:
• Gain experience within the multidisciplinary team.
• Develop new skills and knowledge, and experience in the NHS
• Work as part of a team.

• To provide administrative support to the PPC/MDT Co-Ordinators to monitor the patient journey from referral, through diagnostics, treatment planning and treatment, highlighting any potential delays in the pathway and ensuring accurate data collection to support the process in accordance with Departmental, Trust and Network guidelines .
• To provide administrative support to the PPC/MDT Co-Ordinators to highlight relevant patients to the clinical team for discussion at the Multi-Disciplinary Meeting (MDM), and to ensure that the MDM coordinator receives all relevant information for the patients to be discussed
• To maintain up-to-date knowledge of all targets and processes relating to Cancer management and to be a point of reference within the department.
• Recording data in a timely and accurate manner on paper and electronic systems
• To undertake administrative duties including: scanning, collating, distributing and sending out patient letters; opening and distributing post; updating Department databases; checking stationery stocks; photocopying and filing.
• To assist the department in ensuring the Trust fulfils its requirements to collate, maintain and input data relating to cancer strategy.
• To assist in developing an enhanced use of Information Technology and identifying new ways of working to streamline processes.
