Crynodeb
To provide support to Speech & Language Therapists (SALTs) in providing services to adults with acquired brain injuries. Independently prioritise and manage own workload in consultation with SALTs. To form motivating relationships with residents to achieve positive therapy outcomes. To feedback on progress to SALTs; including providing notification when therapy objectives are not being met and suggest modifications. To maintain records of therapy sessions; maintain up-to-date and accurate written records. To provide routine advice and support related to the therapy programme for families and carers. To contribute to joint therapy sessions with other Health Care Professionals. To design and prepare clinical materials and communication charts using IT and word processing. To provide day-to-day administrative support to SALTs. To maintain therapy equipment inventories. To make video recordings and take photographs, edit and save, under the direction of SALTs, within the framework of GDPR. To work with members of the wider MDT team, to provide high quality services. To undertake training to develop professional competencies in order to meet standards required. To work within relevant legal and policy frameworks, eg. Disability Act 2001. To be flexible to the demands of the environment including unpredictable work patterns, deadlines and frequent interruptions. To ensure that CFNC standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of care to all residents. To have an organisational and individual responsibility towards safeguarding vulnerable adults. You may be required to undertake activities that require physical effort, eg. re-positioning residents or manoeuvring wheelchairs that contain patients weighing in excess of 20 stone. To sensitively deal with patients with challenging behaviour, distressed relatives. To work within a wide range of locations and environments with differing demands and expectations. Sitting in restricted positions while delivering therapy. You may be required to work in unpleasant conditions eg. infectious illnesses, bodily fluids, verbal aggression.
