Support Technician - Animal Care
Job type- Permanent – Full Time
Salary- £25,584 per annum
Hours- 40rs hours per week 08.30 – 16.30, (Spread over 6 days as there is the requirement to attend 3 hours on Saturday)

So, join us at our Sheffield Education Centre, where you will support the Animal Care curriculum area by maintaining our Animal unit which includes a variety of small animals and supporting our learners in completing practical tasks. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
To complete daily animal husbandry duties, including provision of food and water, changing cages, and maintaining high levels of hygiene for each animal, with support from our L1 and L2 learners.
Carrying out regular observations and health checks with support from our L1 and L2 learners.
Support and observe L1 and L2 learners to complete practical tasks which will be vital for their studies and completion of their qualifications
Maintain colonies of mammals and fish to required standards.
Keeping accurate records and inputting data onto computer systems. Gather and collate data and information including monitoring of health and welfare of animals under your care for others to use for evaluation and decision making
The successful candidate should have experience in husbandry with rodents, rabbits, fish, and insects.
Qualifications required:
· English and Maths Level 2, Industry Qualification essential.
· Industry experience, experience of working with a range of animals is essential.
· Assessor Award is desirable but not essential. support will be given to those willing to work towards a teaching qualification.
· Experience of working with groups of learners is desirable.
A DBS check will be required for this role
