Crynodeb
We are looking for someone who has the motivation, drive and commitment to help deliver an outstanding endoscopy service. You will have a proven record of experience and achievement within this field of nursing. You will work as a professional role model, demonstrating flexibility, excellent communication skills and an ability to work as a team leader whilst retaining a key leadership role as a senior nurse within the divisional management teams. There is also an expectation to engage in teaching, training and research activities within the department, including JAG courses.
· The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users related to the speciality.
· To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care.
· To take the lead on delegated responsibilities as defined by the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
· To support the /Senior Sister to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients.
· In the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the ward.
· To manage a delegated group of Band 5 and Band 3 staff ensuring compliance of mandatory training and appraisal requirements.
· To lead the team of nurses in the endoscopy procedure room.
· To help with training of junior staff and maintaining their competencies.
· To help in audits and documentation of data necessary in maintaining the JAG accreditation status.
· To ensure a positive focussed service incorporating patients’ feedback to maintain and improve patient care.
· To act as an effective role model promoting excellence through practice.
