Summary
Relief Security OfficerLocation: SD Northumberland St, Newcastle (covering various sites around the Newcastle area)
Hours: 8 per week (Relief/On-Call)
Job OverviewWe are seeking a reliable and professional Relief Security Officer to cover various client sites in the Newcastle area. You will be responsible for protecting property, people, and assets in line with site-specific Assignment Instructions (AIs).
This role demands a flexible and proactive individual, capable of stepping into various environments and delivering consistent service in accordance with the agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations
-Ensure full compliance with Mitie policies, legal requirements, and regulatory guidance.
-Perform all duties as defined in the site-specific Assignment Instructions (AIs).
-Regularly review AIs and recommend improvements to enhance service quality.
-Hold a valid front-line SIA licence in Security Guarding or Door Supervision—must be worn at all times on duty.
-A CCTV PSS SIA Licence is also required (or willingness to obtain).
-Complete all tasks methodically and professionally.
-Comply with site safety and legal protocols.
Training & Development
-Complete all required training and maintain up-to-date competencies.
-Undertake additional training as required for self-development and contract compliance.
-Keep abreast of new technologies and industry practices.
-Renew your SIA licence at least 16 weeks before expiry.
Security & Health and Safety
-Monitor and report any potential health & safety hazards.
-Stay vigilant and respond appropriately to risks or disruptions.
-Act decisively and involve others if situations escalate.
-Maintain professionalism during difficult interactions or incidents.
-Complete accurate and timely incident reports and notebook entries.
-Follow schedules and check-in procedures as outlined in the AIs.
-Report all incidents to the Communication Centre and emergency services where necessary.
What We're Looking For
-Previous security experience
-Valid SIA licence
-CCTV PSS Licence (desirable or willing to obtain)
-SC Clearance (desirable)
-A flexible and reliable approach to covering multiple locations.
-Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
