DWP. Digital with Purpose.
We are seeking experienced Digital Project Managers to lead end-to-end delivery of complex digital projects in a fast-paced, transformative environment.
Our teams use fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.
DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support and empower millions of people.
The scale of what we do is extraordinary, the problems we have to solve are rich and complex, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.
Data. Work. Projects.
This role sits within our Synergy Programme. You'll be supporting a cross-government transformation of our ERP software and processes.
You'll be working with Oracle on projects which cut across DWP and several other government departments - it's high a profile, complex and one-off challenge that will test and grow your skills as a Project Manager.
Experience of continuous learning, mentoring others, and ERP (though not essential) are all highly valued.
Our Project Managers take ownership of full projects or parts of large-scale programmes, ensuring delivery meets agreed standards of quality, time, and cost, while managing governance, risks, issues, and dependencies through to resolution.
You'll track progress and budgets, report to senior stakeholders, manage change and cross-project impacts and maintain strong governance.
As a team leader, you'll also foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and build a positive culture, while also developing the strong stakeholder relationships needed on a programme of work like this.
We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:
- You have taken full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation, and satisfactory completion of a, number of different digital projects (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines).
- Good working knowledge of effective project controls to demonstrate the health of the projects you are responsible for, and react accordingly to the information gathered.
- Proven ability and experience of building and managing effective stakeholder relationships to shape the outcomes of a project, considering different individual needs, views, and ideas.
- Experience and proven track record of building team dynamics and identifying ways to improve the way the team is working.
- You are influential, and able to communicate in a straightforward, honest, and engaging manner, choosing appropriate styles and tools to maximise and check understanding and impact.
And the following technical skills:
