Summary


We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Theatre Assistant to join Raedwald Day Surgery Unit.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly team who are motivated in promoting the delivery of patient-centred, clinically effective and dynamic service to our patients.

Raedwald day surgery is a purpose built unit consisting of 4 operating theatres, covering different specialities from urology, gynaecology, ENT, orthopaedic, oral, paediatric, ophthalmology, breast, vascular, pain and plastics. There are 24 adult cubicles, 7 children’s cubicles and a post anaesthetic recovery area. The team are dedicated to facilitate same day discharge of elective surgery patients.

The unit is open Monday –Saturday 7.15am until 8pm. There is an expectation that you will work one 8pm finish. There are no night shifts and Saturday working is a 1 in 4 ratio.

Theatre experience is desirable.

You will provide support and assistance within the operating department teams.

You will contribute to the support and care of patients under the direction of registered members of the clinical team.

It is a direct patient focus role, where you will collect patients for theatre and assist the registered staff to prepare the patient for their surgery.

You will support in theatre to providing care to patients and support the scrub practitioner to have the necessary equipment need for surgery.
