Job Overview:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will help provide an exceptional shopping experience for our customers while supporting the daily operations of the store. Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient customer service, helping customers with product selections, answering inquiries, and ensuring their needs are met.
Product Knowledge:
Maintain a strong understanding of the store’s products, promotions, and services to assist customers effectively.
Cash Handling:
Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handle cash, credit card payments, and provide correct change.
Stock Management:
Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves, organizing product displays, and ensuring the store is visually appealing.
Store Cleanliness:
Maintain a clean and tidy store environment by performing routine cleaning tasks, such as tidying aisles, wiping down surfaces, and ensuring the store is welcoming to customers.
Sales Support:
Actively support sales by promoting special offers, upselling, and cross-selling products in line with store goals.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations and provide feedback or suggestions for improvement.
Problem Resolution:
Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and in a manner consistent with company policy.
Skills & Qualifications:
Customer-Focused:
A positive, can-do attitude with a strong desire to help others.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal communication skills to engage with customers and team members effectively.
Attention to Detail:
High attention to detail, particularly with product displays and cash handling.
Team Player:
Ability to work as part of a collaborative team and be flexible with tasks.
Multitasking Ability:
Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, particularly during busy times.
Experience:
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but not essential.
