This is a fixed-term post (6 months) for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Community Paediatrics with East London NHS Foundation Trust within the Specialist Children & Young People’s Services (SCYPS) in Newham, East London. This post would be suitable for an Out-of-programme senior Paediatric trainee, or SAS Doctor looking to expand their portfolio and gain more clinical experience in Community Paediatrics at a senior level. The work will include neurodisability clinics for children with complex needs and Down syndrome, Child Protection medicals, Children in Care medicals as well as EHCP medicals. There will also be the opportunity to undertake quality improvement and service development, and develop paediatric education, clinical management and leadership skills.

(i) Diagnostic assessments:



a. Developmental assessments in Neuro developmental clinics, including initial assessments for children with possible ASD.

b.To participate in the Child Protection rota for triaging referrals and undertaking Child Protection medical assessments.

C. To undertake Health Assessments for Looked After Children and Young People.

D. EHCP assessments.



(ii) Teaching:

a. To contribute to departmental teaching

b. To contribute to teaching of students particularly in relation to community child health services



(iii) Audit, Quality Improvement and Service Improvement:

a. To engage in departmental projects and initiatives to improve services, clinical practice and protocols in areas related to Safeguarding and Looked After Children.



(iv) Management: To participate in management roles within the team, for example teaching coordination, chairing of team meetings, rota coordination.
