A great opportunity for an experienced midwife to come and support the homebirth team and increase leadership skills and midwifery expertise.
The role is full time and includes 8-10 overnight on calls per month. Car driver is desired but not essential.


The candidate will be expected to:


• Care for a caseload of 18+ women per year for antenatal and postnatal care and be able to provide senior intrapartum skills in the home environment.
• Co-ordinate the overall caseload of the team, and provide comprehensive support for the band 6 Midwives, where needed.
• Have strong leadership presence and be able to communicate within the MDT effectively.
• Be able to facilitate care for women seeking to birth outside of guidelines and to ensure patient safety is upheld.
• To ensure the operational aspect of the team is fulfilled and ensure the service is delivered effectively.



To give high quality, safe , evidence based, holistic midwifery care to women in all maternity care settings including antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care as well as parent education. To provide continuity of care and carer in partnership with the women and the multidisciplinary team as required. To ensure midwifery care and support provided is personalised to meet the individual needs of the woman.
