This is your opportunity to step into a Bid Manager role and be part of a team that drives growth through high-quality, strategic bids. We're looking for an ambitious individual who is ready to develop into a Bid Manager. You may have worked in a supporting role on bids, contributed written content to tenders, or helped coordinate proposal submissions and now feel ready to take on more responsibility.
You'll be supported and mentored to lead and manage the end-to-end bid lifecycle for our London Projects business. It focuses on delivering a wide range of telecoms projects for Transport for London (TfL) and several other key clients working on London's rail, underground and surface transport infrastructure. The opportunities we aim to secure vary in value between £10k and £30M and come to us through a variety of procurement methods e.g., frameworks, direct award, competitive tender.
At any time, we will be preparing MSQs, PQQs, ITTs or RFQs for multiple opportunities simultaneously. To ensure we produce compelling, compliant and competitive bid submissions that maximise our chances of success, we need a Bid Manager to lead and coordinate our teams, processes and activities.
This is a fast-paced, dynamic role that will require excellent organisational and time management skills, along with the ability to develop and nurture effective working relationships with people at all levels of our business. Reporting to the Business Planning Director, the Bid Manager will work closely with the London Projects Director and Business Development Director to take responsibility for all work winning activity.
The Bid Manager will lead and coordinate bid teams, including subject matter experts, engineering specialists, project managers, bid writers and cost engineers to produce written and financial submissions that reflect our experience and expertise, differentiate us from our competitors and ensure we meet our turnover and profit targets. They will manage the full bid lifecycle for all opportunities, ensuring alignment with our working winning and internal governance procedures.
What you'll do:
- Lead and develop work winning strategies in partnership with opportunity owners and business heads
- Manage the full bid lifecycle from Go/No Go stage through Deal Review, submission, post-tender evaluation and win / loss reviews
- Support the Business Planning Director with pipeline management, order intake, workload planning and cost / budget forecasting and management
- Support the Business Development Director to manage the opportunity pipeline, including maintaining records on our CRM and project management systems
- Undertake post-tender (win and loss) reviews to drive continual improvement
- Ensure our bid library is managed and maintained to make content re-usable and easy to find
