Leadership of Formulary and Interface Service Develop the formulary service for South East London taking into account local and national NHS needs, in the short and long term Contribute as appropriate to the operational development of the South East London Integrated Medicines Optimisation Committee (IMOC) Identify and manage change needed to develop the role and the function of the Joint Formulary Committee (JFC) Develop and maintain effective working relations with colleagues in primary and secondary care within the locality of GSTFT, KCH, LGT, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust and the ICB Analyse the workload of the Joint Formulary service. and advise on the deployment of resources effectively to meet the demands of users of the services Evaluate the Joint Formulary service in accordance with standards set by the JFC and South East London IMOC Leadership and Management Direct the consultation process for formulary applications and medicines related pathways and guidance, including shared care agreements, for the JFC and South East London IMOC across the acute Trusts Manage, develop the role, and supervise the work of the band 7 Joint Formulary and Medicines Pathways Pharmacist to ensure the timely delivery of work and outputs of the formulary service Prepare and present tracker record of formulary submissions for use by both JFC and SE London IMOC Work with the Paediatric Formulary Committee regarding new drugs approved for ratification by the JFC to provide assistance and advice on new submissions and queries regarding the Paediatric Formulary Assess the need for full formulary submission requests from the three acute Trusts and work with the triage committee to advise applicants on which prescribing committee the submission should be directed to. Notify the Committee of new NICE/NHS England and South East London IMOC guidance and resolve any issues that arise so that that guidance can be ratified. Education and Training Contribute specialist knowledge to the wider healthcare environment. Assign and assess drug evaluation projects that are carried out by the band 7 formulary and interface pharmacist and pharmacists undertaking the Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, as part of their coursework. Develop the role of the band 7 formulary and medicines pathways pharmacist, including critical appraisal skills, medicines safety assessment and clinical governance. Research Integrate research evidence into practice within formulary evaluations and clinical work Identify gaps in the evidence-base in formulary evaluations and clinical work Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate protocols and guidelines within formulary services and clinical practice. Actively seek to improve the formulary and clinical services provided
