Job Description

PAY AWARD PENDING.

Community Alarms are currently looking to recruit a sessional mobile attendant. You will be required to work throughout West Dunbartonshire, providing assistance to tenants within their own homes, as well as dealing with routine calls and the installation of community alarm equipment. The mobile attendants are required to work both individually and as part of a team. You will require some technical knowledge and must also be comfortable with providing practical / personal care.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team providing reassurance and support to vulnerable people living our the community.

The service uses assistive technology to support care packages and applicants should have an interest and understanding of technology and its use in relation to care services. The role involves the programming and installing of community alarm equipment.

It is essential that you hold, or have the capacity to achieve, a SVQ Level 2 in Social Care or an equivalent qualification at SCQF Level 5 or above. You will need to be willing to undertake training in order to competently install and program the equipment and have effective communication skills (both verbally and in writing), a positive professional attitude and the ability to build a positive relationships with service users, follow processes and procedures and work as part of a team.

You must also registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or achieve registration within 6 months of your start date.

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
