Description
The Network Permit Officer (Street Works Inspector) - Technical plays a pivotal role in ensuring that street works are conducted in accordance with statutory regulations and local authority requirements. This position involves monitoring and managing roadworks activities, ensuring that all permits are obtained and adhered to, and working closely with contractors and utility companies to maintain safety and minimize disruption to the public. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical understanding of streetworks regulations and practices to effectively inspect ongoing operations, ensuring compliance with traffic management plans, and identifying any non-compliance issues. This job also includes conducting site inspections, completing necessary documentation, and educating stakeholders on best practices. The Network Permit Officer will engage with various teams to enhance collaborative efforts toward efficient street works management, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency across all operations. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of road infrastructure and ensuring public safety, while also facilitating timely project completion. Responsibilities
Monitor and inspect ongoing streetworks to ensure compliance with permits and regulations.
Review and process permit applications for street works and ensure all documentation is complete.
Conduct site inspections and audits to verify adherence to traffic management plans and local laws.
Identify and report any non-compliance or safety issues during site visits.
Collaborate with contractors and utility companies to facilitate effective communication and coordination on site.
Prepare detailed reports on inspections, findings, and compliance status for management review.
Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders regarding streetworks policies and regulations.
Requirements
Proven experience in street works inspection or a related field.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations governing street works.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans related to street works.
Proficient in using inspection and reporting software or tools.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Relevant certifications in street works management or inspection (e.g., NRSWA certification).
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £27.69
