Responsibilities
Conduct thorough assessments of plans and specifications to ensure compliance with building regulations.
Lead and mentor junior surveyors and trainees, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Perform site inspections, preparing detailed reports on compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with various stakeholders, including architects, clients, and local authorities, to resolve compliance issues effectively.
Advise clients on building control matters and provide clear recommendations for improvements or modifications.
Review and assess compliance for complex projects, ensuring alignment with local and national legislation.
Stay updated on changes in building regulations and contribute to best practices within the organization.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in building control and planning environments.
In-depth knowledge of building regulations, planning laws, and construction practices.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess technical documents and provide sound advice.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement.
Proven leadership abilities, with experience mentoring junior staff members.
Professional accreditation or membership in a relevant organization, such as RICS or CABE, is preferred.
Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:30
Pay Per Hour: £20.31
Location: Newport, Wales
