Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker (Grade 1) to join our Building Services & Maintenance team. As a Caretaker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and functionality. You will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks, including cleaning, general repairs, and ensuring that the environment remains safe and welcoming for all occupants and visitors. Your attention to detail will be pivotal in keeping our buildings in top condition, providing a pleasant space for everyone. Responsibilities
Conduct regular cleaning of premises including floors, windows, and common areas.
Perform minor repairs to building fixtures and fittings as needed.
Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations within the workspace.
Handle waste disposal and recycling procedures appropriately.
Assist in setting up and taking down equipment for events and meetings.
Respond to maintenance requests from staff and address them promptly.
Requirements
Proven experience as a caretaker or in a similar role.
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to perform manual tasks and lift heavy objects safely.
Good communication skills for interacting with staff and visitors.
Knowledge of safety protocols and health regulations.
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £12.60
Location: Newport, Wales
