The Role;
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Senior Admissions Officer to join the Admissions team at Newham College. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the student journey, from initial enquiry through to enrolment. The postholder will lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the College’s admissions service, ensuring all processes are efficient, responsive, and aligned with both internal and external regulations. This role is integral in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused experience for all prospective learners.
Key responsibilities.
Supervise the end-to-end admissions process for all College programmes including Further Education, Higher Education, apprenticeships, and adult learning.
Ensure the timely and accurate processing of student applications in accordance with College policies and funding regulations.
Line manage and support admissions staff with workload management, training, and performance development.
Lead regular team briefings, monitor KPIs, and report admissions workflow trends to the Admissions Manager.
Respond to enquiries regarding courses and admissions processes, ensuring high standards of customer service.
Provide high-quality information, advice and guidance to prospective and current students, as well as parents.
Participate in applicant interviews and enrolment activities, ensuring student data is accurately recorded in college databases.
Our Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience.
Experience in an administrative role, ideally within an educational environment.
Excellent IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of admissions or student records processes is desirable
