Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days in office
Location: Stockport | SK1 3XE
Hours: 37 hours per week | Monday–Friday
Contract Type: opening assignment of 2 months
The role:
Our client is seeking a Planning Officer to support a local authority’s Development Management team. This role involves managing a varied caseload, assessing planning applications, and contributing to sustainable development decisions. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in planning, including greenbelt and conservation work.
Key responsibilities:
Assess and determine a range of planning applications
Conduct site visits and liaise with consultees
Provide advice to applicants and stakeholders
Prepare reports and present at planning committees
Represent the council at appeals and hearings
What the client is looking for:
Degree in Town Planning or related field
Eligible for or working towards RTPI membership
Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation
Excellent communication and report writing skills
Local authority experience preferred
Full UK driving licence required
