The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join Electricity North West’s Transmission leadership team, managing the craft teams working within a pre-defined area on the 33kV and 132kV network; including overhead line workers, electrical fitters, cable jointers and assisted cable mechanics. Ensuring those teams are dispatched to planned and fault activity quickly, standards of health & safety are exceeded, productivity and quality of service delivery are maximised, and excellent customer service is achieved.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and support the standards of Health and Safety as agreed across ENWL ensuring a safe working environment for our colleagues and customers
• Ensure a reliable and secure 33kV/132kV network by driving the delivery of all Inspection & Maintenance outputs as per the Electricity North West policies
• Drive excellent customer service for internal and external customers
• Manage operational risk in line with corporate policies and controls
• Manage work priorities and schedule resource activities for maximum business benefit
• Be visible on site, engaging with the teams, driving productivity and completing safety audits as required
• Responsible for driving productivity and utilising the skills within the team to manage unit costs and maximise incentive revenue as set by Ofgem
• Promote the accurate and timely provision of management information to drive continuous improvement
• Take ownership for the resolution of customer enquiries and complaints within agreed timescales
• Build a strong team ethos in which colleagues are aware of the impact their behaviours and actions have on colleagues, customers and other stakeholders
• Be a change agent and promote continuous improvement by championing and embedding change initiatives to increase performance
• Develop your team’s skills to create flexibility of resource and support succession planning
• Maximise team engagement by being visible, providing regular business updates, delivering key safety messages and providing the opportunity for the team to give feedback
• Play a pivotal role in securing resource and managing site activity during incidents, which may include occasional working outside of normal working hours
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Demonstrable Leadership experience
• Minimum of HNC (or equivalent) in engineering related discipline
• Managing team’s performance
• Utility and/or electrical experience desirable or have a technical appreciation
• Excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills
• IT / mobile device literacy
• Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
